about

Kids from 1 to 92 will love the sonic mayhem that is the Parson's Brown Project! Formed in the fall of 2003 by "Uncle Tim" Bowen (vocals, effects), "Young Jaccob" Evans (vocals, bodymovin'), Jon Middleton (guitar, vocals), Josh Travis (beats, keys, vocals, production) and "Crazy Rob" McCain (keys, guitar, effects), Parson's sought to combine such diverse asthetics as booty bass, noise art, and good old fashioned silliness. While playing shows in late 2003, they recorded their debut LP "Ridin' tha Gravy Train (on Biscuit Wheels), using handheld tape recorders. The result is a wacky, noisy romp, loosely based on the concept of "Uncle Tim" and "Young Jaccob's" naughty shenannigans. This gem of 21st century culture is not to be missed! Album highlights include fan favorites such as "Pirate Song," "The Day(9-11)," and "Al Pachino." Along the way Crazy Rob was lost to the madness which his namesake implies, and is no longer with the group. Shows were sparse during 2004. During the summer of that year, Parson's upgraded recording to multi-track cassette, did drugs, "Young Jaccob" became a man and metamorphized into "Big Huge Jaccob," and the band found the lord Jesus Christ. The result is the sonically superior, and spiritually uplifting "God Works in Mysteriously Sexxxy Ways," their second album, which was released in early 2005 under the name "Parson's Brown Spiritual Enlightenment Revival Circus." The album features such hits as "J.C.'s Halo Repair" and "Jesus Wants Dat Azz 2 Wiggle," and such lovely covers as "Amazin' Grace" and "Joy 2 tha World."
